Lidia Genta

Biografia

Diploma in flute at the "Conservatorio di Cuneo", Lidia starts her musical studies at the age of 11, nurturing a great passion for singing; self-taught and learning from Giuseppe Gai, Kevin Navarro, Rosa Battista, perfecting her jazz vocal skills under the guidance of Giovanna Gattuso.
At age 14 she starts singing as background vocalist in the band Luka (italian christian melodic rock), composed of three siblings Luca, Simona and Marco Genta that will give her the opportunity to perform in theaters and open squares in Italy and in Europe. At the same time she starts working, always as background vocalist, together with Luka, Gospel Sound, Albino Montisci, Continental Singers, Scott Alan Hansen that will give her a chance to grow her studio recording experience, recording various discographical products in the Christian world.
Between 1992 and 1997 she's involved with international group "Continental Singers" as solo singer and assistant-director, during seasonal tours in Great Britain, Scandinavia and Italy; she will also be "1999 Italian Tour" director.
In 1993 she forms a Gospel Choir in the Asti area called Free Voices of which she's director and main solo vocalist; they perform in numerous occasion as concerts and music festivals (ASTI GOSPEL FESTIVAL, RUBIERA GOSPEL DAY, and SPIRITUALS in Iesolo).
In 1995 Lidia starts working with Gospel Sound, a voice quintet (Giorgio Ammirabile, Daniela Benevelli, Sara Taccardi, Davide Tatriele and ...Lidia Genta), being part of it until 2005 and performing at many events such as 1° GOSPEL JUBILEE FESTIVAL of Turin (international festival that hosted even the Sweden By Grace Gospel and Bungaro).
In 2003 she's artistic co-producer of the Free Voices' CD "Guarda in Alto", together with her husband Stefano Rigamonti, who's the programmer and arranger of the CD.

In 1996 she starts teaching vocal technics and theory of music in different musical organizations in the Piemonte region and currently she's teaching Modern Singing at the Associazione Musicainsieme in Fossano and at the School of Music TNC in Turin. She gives lessons of Gospel singing together with Stefano Rigamonti and summer workshops of vocal techniques in various italian cities. Currently she's director of Free Voices together with Stefano Rigamonti, Maurizio Genta and Samuele Degiovanni.

In 2008 Lidia becomes spoke-person for Compassion Italy Onlus, a christian organization involved in long distance adoptions in 24 different countries of the World; position that will bring her to being part, as solo and background vocalist, of the released RAIN, CD/DVD multimedia product containing a live concert of Giorgio Ammirabile & Band, of which she and Stefano are part of.

In 1998 she meets Stefano Rigamonti, piano player and composer with a deep artistic understanding... with whom she shares the dream of passing God's love to the people through music. Proud parents of 2 wonderful kids, of 6 and 4 years of age, Lidia Genta and Stefano Rigamonti have been working at their first discographic release made of their own written and arranged singles.
