Giorgio Ammirabile

Biography

Born in Florence on February 19th 1976.
Ever since he was a young boy he's interested in musical studies. He learns how to play piano and the contrabass at the conservatory "L. Cherubini" in Florence even though his true passion reveals to be singing.
Deeply influenced by Black music, he expresses through is art his personal relationship with God, who becomes a priority in his life and music. Guest Appearances with Other Artists:

In 1995 he gives life to the "Gospel Sound" band; he engages in an intense performing schedule with the band and as a solo artist that brings him to perform on various stages during festivals and events with a Gospel background such as Asti Gospel, Modena Gospel Day, Levanto Gospel, Sanremo Gospel, Torino Gospel Jubilee Festival, Jesolo Gospel, Roma J-Freak Day, Milano Gospel, Firenze Gospel or special event such as Telethon, Compassion Children Choir Tour, Winter Olympics Game Turin 2006 and some live performances on Italian national television Rai and Mediaset.

There are also international performances:
YMCA Music Celebration (Germania), Teenstreet Europe (Germania – Rep. Ceca), Worship Together (USA), The Crucible (USA), WWWorship (Svizzera), Thema Congress (Germania), Lumen Festival (Slovakia), Spring Harvest (UK), Mark Teeder’s "Waiting For the Sun" live recording (Colorado, USA).

Since 1998 he spends long periods of time in the States where he works with local artist, of the gospel and contemporary world.
In 2002 his enganged in many workshops and seminars on Gospel music, in Italy and Europe; one of these was held in 2004 at the university "La Sapienza" in Rome.

2006 Celebrates the starting of his songwriting carrier with a dance/gospel title "Set me Free" wrote and interpreted for the Funkellers, labeled by Energy (Milan). This song becomes an international success and its soon broad casted in Europeans, Americans and Australians radios finishing at the top of the hit lists. "Set me Free" becomes part of international compilations produced by Sony, Emi, Universal and other majors.

From 2007 Giorgio becomes spokes-person for Compassion Italia Onlus, a Christian organization involved in child sponsorships in over 24 countries, taking every opportunity possible to encourage people to sponsor children through their wonderful work.
